Last Hope (It Could Be Worse)

When we think all hope is gone
And there is no point in going on
Look around the room and see
There is much more than you and me

More pain and agony, more suffering
More hell in this world in which we are living
Than you may realize because you don't look
More than what you think God forsook

You are not alone in your sorrow
Even if you don't want to see tomorrow
Remember there are some in this life
That lost family, loved ones, a husband or wife

Maybe they go without food from day to day
Can you see yourself living that way
Well the truth is there is more to life then you
More to be upset about, more you could do

Don't try and compare you pain, or sadness to another
They may have to live without a father or mother
You don't know what its like because you have it all
What would you do if you lost everything, Maybe you'd fall

But there are people yet who live with disease
Some who ask to end it all, who beg "please"
They'd love to be in your place to "Suffer" your way
But what is it that you have to say

Oh no, you broke up with your boyfriend
But if you look close you'll see its not the end
You have another chance to be happy and smile
But all they can do is wish, all the while

They look around with trash on the ground
Garbage on their door step, death all around
How can we be so selfish as to think we have it bad
What if we had it just as bad as others had?

Could you live your life on the streets, in a shelter
Time to find somewhere to hide from the swelter
Can you function without technology like a phone
Could you go on living life if you were truly alone

So open your eyes, look at the people on earth
Know that there is so much that life is worth
You may have a little problem here or there
But if you saw what others lived, you wouldn't care

You think you have it so rough when you don't get that car
Or when you don't have a ride to see where your friends are
But just think of the others who don't have food in their system
And think how lucky you are compared to them

Stop thinking you have is so bad, and its the end of the line
You may be sad and hurt but you will be just fine
Believe me when I say you can be in a worse place
So put that smile back on your face

Don't let anyone get you down
Stop letting others make you frown
There is hope to be found in life everyday
You just have to make it that way.
