Life is short. Do you know who you are and you place in the world?

Who are you?
Not just father, mother, sister, brother,
But who are you?

Not just who you belong to,
Like husband, boyfriend, lover, son,
But who are you?

Are you more that what you do?
Teacher, nurse, shift worker, boss,
Who are you?

Not just what you practice or believe,
Atheist, Christian, Muslim, or Jew,
But who are you?

I know who I am.
I am my name.
My title, my position, it’s all the same.
My name holds my authority, and my status.
It’s spoken over and over a mantra, it’s static.

It’s my reason for being, it sets me free
I am Dominique.
My name says it all
I am Dominique a child of God.
