There is a thing that brings life and makes it worth living.

There is a thing that brings death and makes it worth dying.

It tortures, it pleases,

It warms, it freezes.

It is desired and resented,

It tames and it teases.

It is the reason we live,

It is the reason we die.

It makes us laugh, it makes us cry.

It builds dreams and breaks them.

It gives hopes and takes them.

Everyone knows it's name.

Some truly find it yet many search in vain.
