Ow! I had struck my thumb on the thorns that decorated the rose that I had casually been twiddling in my hand. I stared hard at the blood that trickled down my wrist. I had to shield my wound with my other hand from the cold and fierce wind that blew so tauntingly. This prevented me from blocking the blizzard snow that was dampening my face. It was hard to see through what seemed like mist, but was actually trillions of minesculant snowflakes. I was concentrating on not slipping on the thin black ice underneath my feet as I crossed the road, when I heard a loud horn. I looked to my right, and saw nothing. I quickly turned my head to the left, but it was too late. Twenty feet away was an enormous Semi, that seemed to have no intention of stopping on my account.
