The Daily Scribble is a new literary blog, expressly aimed at fellow writers with an interest in either developing their writing for publication, or because they're interested in the actual industry itself. As a project, we hope to help writers to improve their work. This will be done through thoughtful prompts, complete with examples from well-known literature; reviews of books that we've read (as well as our response to the professional reviews that they've been given) and our constructive criticism programme - which is another way of saying: reviews of unpublished work through literary eyes. You may have seen examples of this style of review through those we gave last month in January for the Rising Stars M-2-M programme.

The reason I'm saying all this to you is because we want to focus on the writing of those who are active and passionate about not only writing but also developing as a writer. We want to use a review scheme to really focus on reviewing those who love their craft, are already at a level that will allow us to encourage improvements and who we think can truly go the whole way from online, self-publishing to hardback best-sellers. We think that you could really benefit from something like this - as this project combines a lot of what is on writing.com but for those most interested in further development.

After all, on this wonderful site we have book groups, a plethora of information on publishing, we have a review system, we have contests - but The Daily Scribble hopes to take those things and transform them into a cohesive centre: so reading a book and giving it a critical assessment of WHY it was good/bad ties in with how we write ourselves; or giving a review based on HOW others have done it before and how you can improve/develop; and of course, how to stay ahead in the publishing world by looking at what's going on in and WHAT you have to do to adapt to it. Things like this can turn us into better writers and we want to help you and the rest of our friends to really aim high because we deserve it.

In other words, we want you to be involved in our project as an initial group of well-deserving scribblers. We want you to suggest poems/short stories/first chapters for review. We want you to critique what we say if you think that we're wrong in suggesting x or y. We want you to tell us WHAT bothers you about being a writer and ASK QUESTIONS that we can consider over the course of a week. We want you to take what you can from our prompts and muse over those things we suggest may help a writer.

If you would like to be reviewed then you can post up to three items that you think would benefit from a review HERE  Open in new Window. every month - these will be reviews on wdc but will be translated into 'essay-like' reviews for The Daily Scribble. Include with a post a few things ABOUT YOU - a small 'bio' of no more than four sentences with the key facts about your writing. We will assume if you do this that you don't mind featuring on The Daily Scribble.

Any questions that aren't answered on our FAQ page  Open in new Window., feel free to email me.

All best and Many Thanks for Reading so far,

The Scribbler
