Regrettably

Dad told me, “Reconsider,” before I forwent college.
Dad told me, “It’s forever,” when I proposed to Angie.
Dad told me, “Your kids come first,” and then I took a drink.
I wish I’d listened. Now he’s dead; they’re gone; I’m broke. What other wisdoms did I ignore? Can they hear me say, “I’m sorry?”
