Another poem I wrote in the tenth grade.
We never think of life from day to day or wonder what would happen if one of our loved ones passes away.
Would we cry or would we hate the ones responsible for putting them in that cold shallow grave.
Now my point is this --
The soldiers who have fought and continue to fight everyday have had to live with the pain of loved ones going astray.
Friends and family have all passed away yet the continue to make decisions anyway; "Should I go out and fight or lay here instead?"
No matter how hungry, tired, or sore they feel they grab their guns and head back to work.
Now you may be thinking why would they do such a thing when we tend to be stingy, selfish and vain.
They don't do it because they have to, they do it because they care.
For the GREATEST gift of all is when a man lays down his life for a friend.
