An angry young man discovers love.
For my poem My World

My World

Don’t color me black,
Imagination I don’t lack.
Don’t color me white,
That just isn’t right.
Don’t color me yellow,
Although I am mellow.
Don’t color me brown,
Or I’ll just give a frown.

You can color me blue,
When I’m away from you.

Don’t call me a religious freak,
A Jew, Muslim, Christian, or Sikh.
Don’t call me atheist; a non-believer,
I really don’t care if I am either.
Don’t call me a saint,
That’s something I ain’t.
Don’t call me wise,
Or say I tell lies.

You can call me divine,
When our hearts entwine.

Don’t say I’m just your fan,
I give you all that I can.
Don’t say you don’t know,
That you can’t feel our love grow.
Don’t say these feelings you’ll prevent,
Or the rest of my days I will lament.
Don’t say this is not from my heart,
I’m falling in love and this is the start.

What I’m trying to say in all my verse,
Is you’re my whole life, my universe!
