Do we really know time?
Time

I’ve been thinking a lot about time today.

Time is the only aspect of our lives
that we can not influence.

We can change the way we measure time,
but we can in no way change it’s passing.
We can not speed it up,
or slow it down.
We can not change its direction,
put it on hold, rearrange it, skip over it,
or travel through it in any other way
than the way we travel through it already.

Time, it would seem, is the one
truly base constant in our universe.
It passes at a constant rate,
no mater who or where you are.

But time is more than that –
It can be kind or cruel,
         best friend or worst enemy,
It can seem to drag,
         or fly by
depending on what we are doing.

Yet a second is still a second,
a minute is still a minute,
                   an hour still an hour.

Time is always the independent variable.

We can do time, make time, save time, waste time,
burn time, set aside time, or have time on our side.
You can have quality time,
a good time, a bad time,
                   or no time at all.

But any way you look at it,
         TIME is still there.

Time is the fourth dimension.
It allows us to trace our movements,
plot our progress, and see what we have come through.

Time effects our lives, in so many ways,
that we may never
                             TRULY
know the effects it has upon our lives.

Time brings wisdom, reflection, pleasure, pain,
         sorrow, and joy,
but only if we are open to her gifts.

And yes, they are all gifts,
         the good, with the bad.
