The beard

The Beard

What`s with all this stubble?
And why has some turned grey?
I`m sure it didn`t look like this,
when I saw it yesterday.

I thought that if I grew a beard,
I would look more mature,
did not expect to look this old,
I really am not sure.

I`ve seen them on the telly,
with that morning shadow look,
And one of those designer beards,
I saw somewhere in a book.

It wasn`t meant to look like this,
what it set out to be,
I`m sorry, I`m just not impressed,
it really is not me.

I must admit I did not expect
the bristles so abundant,
perhaps I should have thought before
I made my blade redundant..
