Taking a motorhome out for the first time is not a picnic, I would rather be in a tent. |
My husband traded his 5th wheel for a motor home because we wanted something where the cats could be with us without being in their cage all the time while traveling. He is an expert at RVing so I relied on him to tell me the ins and outs of RV camping. Everything was going well. We were headed up to Central Oregon to a nice RV park there. Once we arrived we parked and got settled in. My husband set out the lawn chairs, collected wood for the campfire, all those things you do even when you are tent camping. I had to go to the bathroom so I headed back to the toilet. I did my business but noticed there wasn’t any flusher. I looked high and low and didn’t see any way to flush the toilet. I called out to my husband and yelled “honey, where is the toilet flusher in the bathroom, I can’t find it anywhere.” He replies "It’s those two little peddles below the toilet, you push those with your feet.” I yelled back “you are kidding!!! I thought those were brakes!” Apparently a few other campers heard me because people started laughing. He said, “Brakes? Why would there be brakes back there??” To which I replied, “Well I figured that if you were having problems stopping the RV or something that they were back up brakes!” Apparently I was wrong. So, he took me in and gave me lessons on toilet flushing techniques in an RV. Hey, I am a tent camper. You need to go to the bathroom, you unzip the tent, you go out in the bushes, you wipe, and you come back in....zip up the tent and get back in bed! No worries! |
