Future Visions

"With your unique powers, if those two groups ever find out, they will definitely go after you." Alex looks at Yuki's face intently

Yuki swallows his breath. What he just heard sent a chill down his spine...

"What am I going to do?" Yuki starts shaking and sweating

"Relax Yuki; Magician's Pentagram wants to recruit people like you so they won't harm you." Cher tries to calm her brother down by patting him in the shoulder

"But they are not above torturing you and pumping you with drugs to see if you're worth their time." Alex smirks while giving the statement.

"Eh they'll t-torture me?" Yuki gets frazzled upon hearing that.

Cher glares at Alex and then looks at Yuki "Cluster Tech on the other hand is only interested in machines and technology. So they won't be interested in you."

"But they are not above killing you to keep the balance in their favor" Alex smiles at Yuki

"Balance?" Yuki asks Alex with a frightened look

"Magician's Pentagram has dozens of members. But they excel in quantity rather than quality" Cher said


"They kidnap and brainwash children and just give them targets. As simple as that" Alex said


Yuki listens with an unchanging determined reaction


"Cluster Tech barely uses people and they only have a handful of members called "commanders". Alex said


"Instead they gather technology to perfect their robot creation. So they are quality over quantity" Cher said


"Robot creation" Yuki stares at Alex


"What?" Alex asked with a curious reaction


"I um saw you make stuff back at the apartment, are you a" Yuki asked


Alex interrupts and blushes "No I'm a human being, I just have special powers"


"I see, so your power must be an exception like mine?" Yuki asked


"Yeah something like that" Alex said then he continues "Anyway here, take your bag and take the next train home" Alex picks up Yuki's bag and drops it to his feet

"Alex, stop being a jerk." Cher tells Alex with a serious face

"It's called reality Cher. Consenting to this kid is going to get him killed." Alex points out at Cher

"Aside from wanting to be with sis, I have another reason for wanting to go here and its worth it" Yuki calms himself and gets serious

Alex and Cher both got surprised upon seeing Yuki's face.

"I saw numerous visions. People, places and things I haven't seen before." Yuki states  

"Huh you saw multiple visions?" Both Cher and Alex look in confusion.

"One after the other, it's the first time it ever happened." Yuki explains

"What kind of visions are they?" Cher asked

"There were around 12 different people from teenagers and adults; people I know and I don't know" Yuki said


"Really, give us examples" Alex said looking unconvinced

"I saw you two there too, both of you were sad about something. Alex said "Y-you're alive?" and Sis said I'm sorry Yuki I didn't know" Yuki said

"Ooookay, we can't really relate on something that probably hasn't happened yet right?" Alex is smiling


"I know everything about you, Yuki so it definitely hasn't happened yet" Cher said smiling


"Give us another example? Kid" Alex asked

"One of them was that little girl Lily" Yuki said


"Really?" Alex and Cher are surprised
"That's right, I recognized her in the apartment. She was angry, really angry with a disturbing reaction. She said "That can't be"


"You sure it was her?" Alex asked

"Yes I saw her a while ago so I'm sure it's her." Yuki said

"Could this Lily be talking about the fire?" Cher asks

"It can't be, she was scared and then happy when her brother picked her up but never in a whack kind of way." Alex says to deny the earlier question, Alex suddenly thought of something. "Come to think of it, it was strange."

"What's strange?" Cher asks

"Before she left, Lily told us" Alex explains

FLASHBACK

"Ok let's go Lily." The teenager grabs Lily's hand and they start to walk away.

Lily quickly stops and gets a word in. "Oh Mr. Alex, please tell brother Yuki that I said thank you for saving me." Lily smiles

"Oh sure" Alex answers while still holding on to Yuki.

PRESENT TIME

"What's so strange about that? Didn't Yuki save her at the fire?" Cher asks

"Yes however there is one more thing." Alex thinks back

FLASHBACK

"Is the monster gone?" Lily asked with a scared voice

"Yes it is, the kid took care of it." The fireman carrying Lily on his shoulders answers her.

"Really? Brother Yuki is so cool." Lily answers him.

PRESENT TIME

"Yeah how did the girl know that Yuki took down the monster? The fireman only said "That Kid"; Yuki's doesn't look like the hero type." Cher said


Cher then looks at Yuki and said "No offense Yuki" then she pats him on the head


"Anyone could easily misunderstand the so called kid as Alex." Cher answers

"W-wait you don't mean Lily has something to do with the monster?" Yuki is shocked

"The phoenix is a fire element, someone has to be close by to manipulate it. The other 2 firemen are water users, so it has to be that girl." Besides when I said that I'll carry her, she held on Yuki tighter and acted scared. Maybe because she knew being that close to me might make me suspect her." Alex said.

"But if she is our arsonist, she could be miles away by now. We don't even know if Lily is really her name." Cher states

"Yeah but then again, hey kid, come here." Alex gets closer to Yuki and pulls on to his shirt collar.

"W-wait what are you doing?" Yuki starts to choke.

"Aha there we go." Alex pulls Yuki's collar and looks at a scratch on his neck.

"What's that?" Cher gets worried

"That girl held on him tight and even scratched him with her nails. Plus this kid's clothes are still in the lab and he carried her on his shoulders so we might get her DNA." Alex made an "I got it" face.

"Ok let's go to headquarters Yuki." Cher said

"Y-yes" Yuki sweat drops because of both Alex and Cher's shimmering faces and makes a sigh

Next Scene
Providence Headquarters
4pm

Yuki and the others are inside a big 10 story building. They just got off at the sixth floor elevator and are walking the lobby. Yuki feels uneasy because people are looking at him.

"Sis, are we really safe here?" Yuki grabs on to Cher as he said that

"Of course we are, why you ask?" Cher answers

The group has entered the office and is walking toward another door to go to the lab.

"Well I heard that police headquarters are filled with scary men and cigarette smoke fills the room." Yuki answers

"What who told you that?" Alex asks while smiling

Then Alex opens the door to the lab and then suddenly an explosion happens and smoke blows out the door like a gushing fan.

"AH WHAT'S THIS." Alex blurts the statement as the smoke covers the three of them.

Yuki, Alex, and Cher are coughing again and again

"Cough, so the rumors are true." Yuki giggles while coughing

Alex turns his right arm into a fan like machine and blows the smoke away from them. Then he proceeds to speak. "What's going on here?"

"Who sucked out my smoke?" A woman in a lab coat screamed as she is standing in front of the door of the lab. Her face is covered by a mask as the smoke dissipates around her.


The woman in the lab coat recognizes Alex and Cher and said "Oh its you people"

"What's with that explosion? Another of your dumb experiments?" Cher asks with a snide look on her face

"I was testing the chemical composition of this new smoke bomb I made." Lucy answers without an offended reaction

"I see good luck with that." Cher answers

Lucy looks at Yuki and gets curious. She gets closer to him and grabs both his hands. "Huh? Are you a new member?"

Yuki feels uncomfortable. "No sorry"

"He's my brother Lucy; the clothes Alex sent here belong to him. He's rather shy so I suggest you not get too close." Cher answers

"Oh I see so he came to pick it up himself?" Lucy asked

"Of course and we need another favor from you." Alex gets a word in

"A favor?" Lucy asked

NEXT SCENE
INSIDE THE LAB

Alex, Yuki, Cher and Lucy enter another room of lab

"I'm surprised evidences don't get tampered in here, with all the explosions you're making." Alex said with a smile

Lucy grabbed a plastic. Inside is Yuki's jacket and shirt. "Your concern is unnecessary; I keep evidence and my experiments in different rooms. The room for my experiments is soundproof and the walls are reinforced, every scientist should be that careful" Lucy answers not seeming offended

"Ok ok I get it." Alex said

"She's always hard science?" Yuki asks Cher next to him

"Yeah but believe it or nor Alex is hitting on her" Cher said as she whispers at Yuki. Yuki slightly laughs


Lucy grabs the notes next to the plastic "Here are the results. There are 2 sets of DNA here; one of them is from a Yuki Mancio." She shows the group a printed file of Yuki with a picture. "That's this kid right?"

"Ok so how about the other set?" Alex asks

"The other set shows no match to our database." Lucy answers

"Huh? I knew it can never be that easy." Cher states "Oh well back to the drawing board I guess.

"According to this there was a gold hair here, there really wasn't any data?" Alex said as he looks at the notes

"That's right, I tested that too and twice but no match. Maybe we don't have data on whoever you are looking for." Lucy states

"I see no choice then." Alex sighs

"Um Miss, how soon can I get my clothes back?" Yuki asks

"You can have them now. I'm pretty much done with them anyway." Lucy hands the plastic with the clothes to Yuki. After she takes the plastic off the table other papers fell on the floor.

"Ah" Yuki bows down to start picking up the papers.

"Its ok kid let me handle them." Lucy grabs the papers on the floor before Yuki could bend over.

"Thank you, please excuse me." Yuki walks away after bowing

"Ok it's getting cramped in here. Yuki how would you like to meet the other members here?" Cher puts her arm over Yuki's shoulder and they both walk away

"Ok." Yuki gets nervous but goes along.

"Ok I'll see you later Lucy." Alex says

Lucy just picked up all the papers. "One moment Alex" Lucy sees the papers she is holding and remembers something. "I did try matching similarities on the other set of DNA, but it would look more like a mistake"

"Really, what did you find? Alex asks

"Well the second set has a near match to Yuki Mancio" Lucy said

"That's definitely a mistake. The evidence was contaminated." Alex said

"Yeah most likely." Lucy nods in agreement.

SCENE CHANGE

On the top of a building adjacent to providence headquarters, the little girl Lily is carrying a teddy bear with her. She is wearing a pentagram shaped hair band on the back of her hair and she is standing with an excited look while watching the headquarters.

A man comes behind her. It's same man that picked her up earlier. The man has black hair which is tied behind him in a knot. He also has a pentagram symbol on his clothes. He gets a word in" What are you doing here Lily?"

"Oh Nigel, it's you, Thanks for picking me up earlier." Lily looks behind her

"It's not like you to need my help or anyone's correct?" Nigel scoffs at her

"I just had a little fun. Pride isn't everything you know." Lily said without a care in the world.

"More like you met your prince charming." Nigel smiles

"He'll make a good recruit for the professor. He fits the category. Having 2 powers is a bonus and his personality is easy to manipulate." Lily gets excited and starts shivering with joy.

"I'd say he needs further testing. Besides his sister and his new best friend are members of that group." Nigel said


Lily starts pouting


Nigel continues "Don't forget about that other group, we can't rush in recklessly." Nigel interrupts Lily's moment of delusion

Lily's face gets serious "Cluster Tech is not a problem. Quality is not everything and with Providence it's a 3 way battle." Lily smiles evilly
