A poem comparing flowers and man. |
| Flowers Sleeping at night Awakening at dawn, Circadian rhythm of life As man awakens with a yawn. Uncurling and stretching Fiery heads in heaven’s light, As does man each morning To welcome the sun so bright. Hungrily searching for nutrients They must have water to survive, Man eats his breakfast And drinks coffee to revive. Preening in their scented glory They await kisses of butterflies and bees, After we bath and dress each morn Before leaving we kiss our families. As the light wanes we come home Ready for supper and bed being tired, Curling up their beautiful petals With no sunlight the flowers retire. The next morning we awaken And the cycle continues, The flowers unfurl their petals Their movements are impromptu. God in his perfect glory and planning Made flowers and man with similar traits, We are both beautiful and bring pleasure Flowers and people make beautiful bouquets. Flowers do not fear the gardener’s shears Knowing the smiles they will bring, People who are good and happy in life Look forward to hearing the angels sing. |
