The Poet’s Greatest Enemy

Impatient, I wait for the inspiration

To arrive from the heavenly muse

Whose coming is told through beautiful hues

To aid my words with no hesitation



But my attentions starts to waver

I find myself admiring pictures of cute cats

wearing over-sized fedoras and top hats

They speak only to haver.



I “X” out the browser to start again

To put my mind into focus

Although it may be in vain

To complete my magnum Opus



And I hope one day

That the world will like what I say.
