a poem I though up |
You tried to romance me I saw through your game. You said I was attractive I blocked out the pain. You now watch me from a far I make sure you stay where you are. Perhaps you wonder what made me Like this. It's not you really it's just My metamorphosis.I locked myself In a iron cocoon. Safe and secure A rose to come into bloom. A Caterpillar now a Butterfly soon. I saw by watching others lives False love isn't worth the lies. So tell me now, lover boy, just What do you hope to gain? Perhaps I can spare us both The pain. In my cocoon I sleep and dream And this is where it would seem, I can see my prince charming. But you are not him, my Prince, you see, is a gentleman To me. Tell me, handsome, can you be? Can you respect a lady fair? Or is that simply not why you're There? My prince is loving and It will be said, he will respect me Before and after we're wed. In my cocoon I also saw you, I saw you playing your games With other girls hearts. How Many now? Care to tell now? I saw hearts break, will they Mend? If you think you can get me You've gone 'round the bend. My prince is still out there, I've Not seen him true. But I know One thing is certain. My prince Is not you. |
