Janus the two faced god,
stands at the doorway of the year,
seeing yesterday and tomorrow,
past and future,
beginnings and endings,
he is blind
to the momentary discomfort of today.
Janus,
holding open
the door of time,
allows history to pass through,
without ever witnessing
it being made.
Janus the doorkeeper,
seeing both reality and probability,
knows that
endings generate beginnings.
