Human

I am a human with feelings,
I can cry like the rest,
I have bruises that can't heal,
And I deserve to rest.

I am not sure how we did it,
But we dragged each other in to it,
We made it a war.

We get hurt in times like these,
Even when you can't tell,
But a human soul can break
And go to a place like hell.

Don't you see what words can do?
What we humans feel?
It sometimes splits us in two.
And it takes time to heal.

But we can say our sorry
And make a promise.
Maybe we can't keep it,
But it's worth a try.
We're only human,
But we have hope.
