A poem I wrote for my sister during her treatment for leukemia.
Let yourself be defined by your radiance.
What is the one word you would use to describe yourself,
if you were on the outside looking in?
Stop and think about it for a second.

Walk fearlessly through that fire.
Let the things you don't need burn off
– let them sprinkle down like ashes -
and step through to the next chapter.

You have been reborn. What will you do with your second chance?
Remind yourself that you are loved, you are strong, you are mighty, you are blessed.
Glow with a fire of gratitude, compassion, and acceptance
(that means towards yourself as well).

Walk out into the world and never question your right to be here, to receive abundance.
Sing out loudly and don't apologize for making noise, for taking up space, for gathering in what you need to be satisfied.
Nourish your body, your spirit, your heart.
Be joyful, be proud, be sad when you need to be and let it guide you to a better choice.

When you feel alone, tap into the energy that is all around you and don't be afraid to fill up on it.
And when you're full, go out and share that fullness with the world.
