Yesterdays cloud my mind

Give me the hope I left behind

I recall us going to the ocean

Where you showed me such devotion

I know your love for me was pure

I was small and quite demure

I grew up loving you

And had respect for you too

My memories of days gone past

Stay close to my heart, which beats so fast

You made me giggle, you made me cry

But in the end you’re the perfect guy

I recall your Airman’s uniform

As you’d leave to inspect the dorms

Teaching all the young ones how to perform

I like my memories they're all I have these days

Since so many of my relatives retired to their graves.
