A short poem made of memories.
I Remember It All

I remember the day
we met.
You were seven and
I was five.
My big brother was "hypnotizing" me with a watch.
And you were laughing.
And I loved it.
Your laugh.
So I kept playing along
Even thought it felt somewhat foolish.

I remember the day
you came over to play.
And I was crying because
I was mad at my sister.
You came over to me and you poked me
And
You told me that she hadn't hurt
I was ok
I should stop crying.
And so I did.
I wanted you to be happy at me.

I remember the day
we went to your house I play.
We were older now.
You were ten and I was eight.
My sister played with your sister.
But I played Spider-Man with you and our brothers.
And you seemed happy that I was playing with you.
I cannot tell you
How happy that made me.

I remember the day,
Years after Spider-Man,
When you played guitar for us all.
And I fell for your smile all over again.

I even remember,
Thought I wish I didn't,
The day you fell for her.
And I watched.
But my mouth did not speak and my body did not move.
There was nothing I could do.

I also remember the day she broke your heart.
And I wanted to hold you tight.
Just to be with you.
But I knew I coudln't.

I remember the day a year after that
I had my brother's phone.
You had texted him.
You asked if he remembered
The day I played Spider-Man.
I cried.
So surprised
And so happy
That you remembered
That day.
That was one of my favorites.

I love you.
I realize now I may have always loved you.
And it is quite possible
I WILL always love you.

Will you remember?
