I Reach Deep

I Reach Deep
finding strength from within

they say...
that pain,
can bury you.

that the darkness,
creeps into the corners,
of your mind.

and holds you prisoner,
it can steal life from you,
one moment or second,
or day at a time.

but... do you know,
you hold something special?

it's hidden deep within you...
you have to reach for it...
you got to want it bad...
but you can grasp it.

it's called "inner strength",
or maybe a piece of hope.

so many times,
i have fallen,
from the loss,
of a loved one,
or from an abusive,
explosive environment.

but... i reached deep,
i find my inner strength.

it does not mean,
that i AM weak,
i know i will,
have hardships throughout my life.

but... one thing is for certain,
i can reach deep,
within myself and find strength.
