a young lady who does not go along with the upper crowds theater, games, etc. |
| Feb. 5, 2015 Ella Fitzgerald was without a doubt one of the great singers of all times. She sang Cheek to Cheek, Someone to watch over me and many more songs that entertainers sing today. The song "The Lady is a Tramp" is a very favorite of mine. She lets people know she doesn't go along with social circles and as she says, she gets too hungry to eat dinner at eight. I love it when she says she can't be bothered with the people she hates. She doesn't like putting on airs and loves being herself. One of my favorite stanza is: I like the free, fresh wind in her hair Life without care I'm broke, it's old Hate California, it's cold and it's damp That's why the lady is a tramp In other words the ladies of the upper class thinks she is a tramp because she wants to be herself.
