A short story based off of the song "Done For You" by Black Veil Brides. |
You stared in silence as you looked at the gravesite of four people. You knew these people. They were your family, and, God, did you miss them. You let out a sigh as you placed a black rose on each of their graves, letting tears slide down your face, whispering goodbye to them. The tears hit the freshly dug ground each time you set down a new rose. {ep:1} You stayed until the early in the morning, sitting on the grass nearby as you spoke to them. You smoked many cigarettes as you looked at the graves. You were still wearing your funeral dress when you were woken up the next morning at around ten a.m. {ep:2} You thought back to how this had happened. {ep:3} It was your eighteenth birthday, and your mother had saved up money to buy you a car. Your step-father, sister, and brother all knew this. Your sister was twenty-two years old , and your brother was twenty. They had both came to your birthday party, giving you gifts. {ep:4} Then your mother drove up in the car, parking it in the driveway. You were ecstatic as she walked into the house and handed you the keys with a smile. Everyone got in the car and you decided to take a joy ride. You wished you hadn't. {ep:5} The light turned green at the stoplight and you stepped on the gas. A tractor trailer came from the side, the one that had just turned red. It crashed into the side of the car, instantly killing your mother who was in the passenger's seat and your sister who was in the passenger's side. {ep:6} The car ran off the road, flipping a few times in which caused your step-father to break his neck. He was unable to breathe and suffocated. Your brother was ejected from the car, crashing through the frontview window. He died on the way to the hospital of blood loss and head trauma. {ep:7} You had gotten a gash through your stomach and on your waist and neck from the seat belt. You ended up slamming into the airbag and getting a concussion. {ep:8} You wished you had died. {ep:9} You had gotten a new car that evening, but at the price of your family's life. {ep:10} You regretted every single fight you had gotten into with any of your family member's. If only you hadn't been so selfish... {ep:11} You had them buried a week after the crash, February 21st. You were healing. If only it was done for you, not them... {ep:12} |
