short poem
I'll always hear the whispers
Its their intended meaning that seems to fall beyond me at times
Those words look so pretty falling from your mouth
Although they hurt like nothing else by the time they're absorbed by my mind.

How many times shall we venture here?
How many times will be the last?

If what was meant to be wasn't really,
Which one of us will have the courage to hold the door while the other does pass?
You first, I must insist if my manners have not all been pronounced deceased...
I'll take that heart back if you don't mind, I know what forever means, thanks for asking...

And I'll thank God daily that I only signed a temporary lease...
Shhh...Don't spoil the surprise for yourself...
Something tells me we are flirting with your favorite part...
When all doors seem to be unlocked, an eternity spent with such a passionate keeper of the heart...

Not this time though, no, not ever again.
I don't need the mirrors to repeat the past to me...
I'm smart enough to smell even the sweetest of regrets...

This time though, I couldn't sign my name to the page...
This time, and maybe this time only...
It was you who was directed by destiny...
And once there you refused to pay...
