Looking Deeper into the Nature of Things

Restless wandering
a path with no end.
Endless wondering,
a breath to begin.

Lying before me
a deep empty waits,
yet the calling sea
of knowledge I sate.

Tis life after death
or life after life?
As I take this breath
I know I'm alive.

We are no coming.
We are no going.
We are by loving.
We love by knowing.

We are like the flame
existing before
conditions can make
manifest our souls,

Do we not exist
before we burn bright
as some light betwixt
two ends of a life?

Does heat not remain
within your own heart?
Energy? Embrace...
it cannot be lost.

Yet what do you love
If not to be true?
"Why must it be tough?"
The strength is in you.

Memories long dead,
suppressed beneath truth.
It's all in the head,
perception of youth.

Sauntering reality,
Flirting with the edge.
Peace all around me,
this path with no end.
