This month we honor love. Do I consistently express my love to God in a personal way? |
(This poem was written out long hand not fully six years ago. However, this is the first time I have typed it into print. I wrote it during Vacation Bible School in response to a subject being discussed. I have often found that I can take notes in poetry form as easily [or sometimes more easily] than I do in prose form.) --------------------------------------------- Dear LORD, I love You as You are, for You have first loved me, You saved me from the sins that mar, and from the good to see. Dear LORD, I cannot stretch to know how You could love a man, Why You would leave Your Home to go to death by Sovereign Plan. Dear LORD, I wonder at Your Grace to die on Calvary, To lie so stately in that place to make The Way for me. Dear LORD, I can in fullest heart exalt that break of day That saw Your Life anew to start, Salvation You did pay. Dear LORD, I often wonder why you'd want me as Your son To serve You in the land in the Sky as dearest Vict'ry won! To love such LOVE cannot be known by the mind but by the heart, The King, Who sits upon the Throne, is LOVE right from the start. Dear LORD, my Love, in thanks I grow, my bad, my good, my words Can ne'er repay, but still you sew Your Grace in daily Word! Line Count: 28 by Jay O'Toole on June 13, 2011 |
