A poem about seeing past the shell to a true heart |
Look Closer at your Foe I'm trapped in a gap between two decisions I have to rely on my intuition for the correct decision I can break through the barriers but they just get scarier The challenges are rising, but I refuse to start dying The damage is repairable but the work is unbearable One day we will rise! Icarus may have hit a quagmire but my wings, They are already on fire. With them I fly higher! Termination? Me? No I am Determination! Don't get it wrong, and don't be hatin’ But I caught his eye, that eye that wants me to die, Will I fail, should I bail? Of course not! I am not frail. I will want to tell the tale of the wings I sailed felling a beast Because to no evil I shall hail. I will prevail. I run up along a statue and ran up the tail of the stone dragon, but I am the one with the wings that actually flap and I won't be crashing, the creature gnashes his teeth and starts thrashing Bashing a statue that was to fall atop me. I twist my wings and dive to his horns that adorn the shackles of thorns. I cut them with my sword and the cuffs fall to the floor His chains now torn and free. Free to be what he wants to be. Now filled with glee, the beast is released. A lesson could be learned from this, perhaps, that misunderstood things aren't what they seem. Not evil, but concealed. The view field may seem askew, but with a close look, they are true. |
