From the Outside In

Looking from the outside in,
we had everything we dreamed.
Our lives were perfect and whole
until another stole the show.

Reflecting on the last twelve months,
life was forever changed by one lie.
I have changed and so have you –
after what we’ve been through, who wouldn’t?

I wish I could say things were better,
but you are no longer here, my love lost.
If this is how it will be forever,
then count me out of this wretched life.

Looking from the outside in,
I wonder how it all began.
I hope and pray with every breath
this is not the way it ends.
