Though ardent rain may seize the day,
at my Master's feet I lay,
it's not by choice I sit and stay,
mine is simply just obey,
and not to ponder why this leisure state
and comfort's sake my life became,
My devotion blinds my Master's eyes,
where loyalty is occupied,
disguised in quiet growls and cries,
at His feet the faithful hide,
waiting for commands when all the while
my Master's side is where I lie,
Not turning from the hand that feeds,
strained in vigilance I keep,
resigned to see what life will be,
and noticing for all I dream,
it seems I'm destined here beneath
comfort's chair to sleep beside my Master's feet,
