Thankful

Thankful

I am thankful for another day,
a day to spend in communion
with my Father in heaven,
listening to His wisdom shape me.

I am thankful for the food I eat,
knowing that others don’t have any,
painfully aware that I could be in their shoes,
if not for my Father in heaven providing.

I am thankful for my family near and dear,
brought to tears by those who have no one,
having known loneliness in my younger days,
saved from despair by my Father in heaven.

I am thankful for something to believe in,
when so many around me are searching for
and desperately need to find the love everlasting,
a free gift for the asking, from my Father in heaven.

I am thankful for another day,
knowing that many did not get the chance,
spending the day in communion with
my Father in heaven as He holds me in His heart.
