A Purpose that Fits the Goal

The likeness to that caliber
Makes a warrior’s heartbeat stir.
But failure that’s so prevalent
Seems a turnabout and a detriment.

Though every goal claims masterminds
Whose desperation never binds,
An unimagined nemesis
Is out to cause some great distress. 

So let one’s purpose fit the goal -
The devil’s mischief makes one whole.
Quiet splendor’s able tease
Can see a rainbow through the trees.

The simple truth: one has the gift,
Enliven, weather, gaze for thrift -
The other way’s made just for fun;
Long before defeat’s begun.
