you're simply beautiful and let no one tell you otherwise

i asked myself several times,
was i enough?

they laughed and spread lies
little did they know it was tough.

i looked at my reflection in the mirror,
and saw nothing but imperfections.

but then he whispered in my ear,
" don't be afraid of rejection."

days turned into months,
months turned into years.

still i can't get rid of those thoughts,
now drowning in tears.

but sometimes i question myself,
why listen ?

as a man once believed in himself,
and now he completed his mission.

so if you ever wonder your worth,
do know you're loved and just be thankful

and that these aren't just words,
as you're simply beautiful.
