The summer spirits beckoned me
to sweep emotional debris
outside my mind with breeze from sea
and let it fade from memory.
For that, I went to bungalow
in cadence with the ebb and flow.
Along the shore, we gathered shells
deposited by ocean swells,
until we heard the vesper bells
recalling us for prayer spells,
where we gave thanks for nature's grace
and peace we found in quiet space.
Too soon, we had to pay the bill
and flip the switch to working drill
in order to restock the till.
In spite of that, I always will
maintain a fond affection for
the time we spent along the shore.
