Putting a cobwebbed sheen on an old classic, apologies in advance
Turn Back the Clocks (Halloween Muse)

Turn back the clocks, grab an extra hour in bed,
Lock the cat out the room and curl up instead,
Silence the alarm clock and muffle it's snooze
Today's time we gain, which later we'll lose.

Let snooze buttons rest with a morning deserved
With a sign on the door reading Do Not Disturb,
Costumes left from last night of a devilish form,
For now, wear pyjamas, in comfort, snug, warm.

Let us have bacon, and eggs, and beans and toast,
The feast we love on Sundays most,
With spent weekends, with noise, and beats;
Life has played its tricks now: it's time for treats.

It nears now, All Hallows Eve: have fun everyone;
Pumpkins are carved and lit up like Suns;
Drink up and be merry and bob apples from troughs.
For nothing now matters, 'cause I have booked Sunday off.
