This Earthen Vessel

The power of God to keep...

Oh the treasure we hold~~in this earthen vessel

Oh the powers both good and bad ~~ against which we wrestle

Though victories we have ~~ many behind

The pain of the failures ~~ doth more surely remind

No rest for the weary ~~our minds always stayed on the test

No trouble will stop us ~~ as God has given us his best

By this we are driven ~~ by this we do hope

A little more Word dear Father ~~ a little more rope

We have the victory ~~ deep inside we know

For the power to hope ~~ is the power to grow

His Word is our treasure ~~ that to us He did not hide

The wisdom of it, is too our pleasure ~~ if its principles we do abide

Ridiculed and laughed at~~this is out lot

His word lives inside of us~~so weary we’re not

We need only to look up~~and into His arms nestle

Oh the treasure we hold~~in this earthen vessel

{2 Corinthians 4:7 ”But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
