Freeform poem about a stray cat |
| ;. "Cats at the Farmhouse" I was left in the woods, by people who didn't care. So I walked and wandered, I was so cold and scared. Then towards morning I spotted, A big old farmhouse. And others like me, Who were scattered about. An old man brought food outside So quickly I ran to join the pride. Talking softly he gave us a smile, as food clanked bowls, we had watery eyes. So we gathered and watched closely, as our benefactors moved. Till he called out," come children" in a voice that soothes. So we all ran for a position, as more appeared from their hide. I had not eaten for days, it was so good we cried. With bellies full, we went on our way, Some laid down, some of us played. As the old man just watched, it made me feel it,ll be okay. And days went by, at my new home, I was happy again instead of alone. Those cold scary nights were now all gone, At this farmhouse I can now call my own. BEAR 28 lines |
