Story on prompt
[Word count: 879 words.]

It has always been this way, and we have been co-existing following this mechanism for so long.

Seeing that the rain is coming she goes to the market to fetch back food. This time she has brought ham, it looks oh so soft and tender, the meat is inviting me, or better yet, provoking me to just jump right at it, but I can't, I am trapped, bound by a covenant and the time is not right, I must wait, wait and persevere, for the rain is to come, it is going to be a storm today and I will have gotten my fill of this blissful taste by the end of this storm.

The strong winds and rain have started to blow, outside, the trees are swinging madly, but inside its quite. Not a single sound from the outside can come in or a sound from the inside can go out and disturb the processes of either side.

I observe her setting up the mood, nicely placing all the cutlery at their right places, setting up the lights and filling the glasses with red wine, all the while looking fondly at the ham.

Outside the storm is raging now, and inside, she starts to speak, I don't have much interest in what she speaks, but I listen to her anyway, I owe her this at least. She cares for me so much, all these years she has harboured me and cared for me like no other. But its not at all one sided, mind you, I have helped her too. I had been there for her, all the time, when her parents were gone after an accident, I comforted her. Her parents were quite old and if it had not been the accident, then nature would have taken them anyway, but that's not the point here.

The clouds seem to be rumbling, it is almost time, I can barely control myself. She extends her hand towards the ham and as if teasing me, she runs her finger through it, feeling its texture, touching it skin to skin; the finger leaves a light depression on its skin which disappears instantly, we both gulp down at the sensation. I know that she likes the ham as much as I do but I can't let her have it, every bite from the first to the last, belongs to me and me alone!

The time finally comes, a bright lightning strikes, I jump at the plate and snatch it away from her, I take control, of the place, of her and of the ham, she ultimately draws back. I reach for it just like she did and I know that she is watching the ham go away from her but she can't do anything about it and that makes it much more enjoyable.

I play with it for a bit, letting the light shine on the ham, teasing her some more and taking myself to the edge in that process, all before sinking my teeth right in.

The winds and the rain are calming down, and its nearly the end of the storm, I am about to close my jaws and tear the ham apart, but before I have the time to do so, she comes at me, causing an excruciating pain at the back of my head and I drop the ham, the wine and the fork to the ground. On reflex, I kick her back and she drops to the ground at once.

This was the first time that she had retaliated but I couln't hate her for that, what I couldn't stand however, was that the ham was now swimming in a pool of wine on the floor. I just can't see my food like this, spilling wine everywhere is uncultured.

I decide to deal with her later, the ham is the priority now, staying on the floor, it is loosing its warmth and would soon spoil, it has already started to produce noises like the pig has come back to life. I can't have that, I grab it by the hair and take a huge bite off its neck, its squeals now die down along with him.

The storm finally ends.

Within a time-span of a few minutes I finish it off licking its bones clean. And then I turn to her, she is sitting in the corner, sobbing, but upon reaching closer, I find that she is actually laughing.

The clouds are parting ways and she stands up, she says to me that she wouldn't let me eat during the next storm anymore, I can't hold my anger any longer; how dare her talk to me like that! I roar at her and shoot a punch at her but it goes right through her. The sun is up and the mind now belongs to her, I am trapped again, and I can't do anything, She smirks and walks ahead to control her body again.

The storm on the outside always ends in total peace, and so does the storm on the inside, always, everytime I have my fill and exit quietly, and now out of nowhere she threatens to ruin this peace. I can't have this, during the next time I will be waiting for her too.
