Mechanistic squander

So how do I know you care?

I live in a world of everyone wanting everyone to know they care.
Amidst are handicapped and disabled by the side of the road here and there.

I hear too often we are doing this for your own good.
And ponder to myself and you do this whether they like it or not.

What causes so many of us to want to get up on our mechanistic soapbox
Don't we realize that people don't like to be fixed and then cast aside.

I long for the day we become more real and let others see our hidden scar
So that together we learn how to work and pray together in a world learning to care.
