I wasn't meant to be a caged bird.

I Was Meant to Soar

Sometimes life can bring me down,
leaving me in breathless pain,
knowing deep down within my soul,
I was meant to soar.

There are days when I want
nothing more than to stay in bed,
hiding from the world, but I can’t.
I was meant to soar.

Someone once told me,
“Dreams are what you make,
take hold of them with all your heart –
You were meant to soar.”

Today is a new day to face;
I feel a new hope arising from within
to chase those dreams and see what happens
when I know I was meant to soar.
