Searching for stars

A poem that deals with the pain of losing a loved one.

Tonight I look up to find you,
But all that covers me is darkness.
Even the stars are beyond my eye's reach.
And then I feel you.
Slow, light drops of heaven touch my skin.
I close my eyes and the darkness becomes light.
I could lie here forever waiting.
But time continues on and I must say goodbye.
I love you. I miss you.
I'll search for you forever in the sky.
