They will never know how much you try
Or just how big your stride really is
The sunglasses they’re wearing work by dimming light
So they will never see your light shine as bright

But just like a bad day
Rainy days that make the sun seem so far away

There’s always going to be people who do understand
The ones who say you can
Sunglasses? They don’t own a pair
Showing they really do care
They see your light and all that you are
Never doubting that you can run really far

So when things turn out less than best
