The rain
splats
and
pats
the leaves
on the trees.

The rain
plops
and
drops
in beat
with my feet.

The rain
drips
and
slips
down the street
where we meet.

The rain
splashes
and
lashes
in streams
from the eaves.

The rain
hums
and
drums
as my sleep
becomes deep.
