Getting through a heatwave in winter. |
| The wintertime was so sublime we had to beat the heat; we went to bed with faces red— our cover just a sheet. We made more ice for it was nice to put cubes in a towel. We daubed our brow to then allow the waning of our scowl. This winter spike of heat was like a force that presses forth. Some southern air stayed our despair— the cold had wandered north. Our beads of sweat made us forget the chill of winter’s slap. We put our fans on bedroom stands to ease our handicap. Our raiment wee with much to see as flesh fought hard for air. The need for skin began to win, and there was more to bare. The clothes we wore were heat and more, and thus they made us damp. This heat was such to add a touch of summer nudist camp. 24 Lines Writer’s Cramp Winner 12-28-19 |
