"there's no sadness in sunsets" — kavya dixit, pt1
desert roses that bloom after sunset
and colour the night with their crimson fragrances
make me believe in the sayings of
home being where the heart belongs
⠀⠀⠀
i belong in deserted planets
with royal hues like neptune
(but with sweet tinges of
blushing aureate as its clouds)
and majestic rings like saturn
(but shaped like bent arrows,
arrows bent back and in a circle
but never really connecting —
why do they try so hard to
live like shooting stars that
fly parallel to each other?)
⠀⠀⠀
my feet belong on saturn's rings
dancing to amber-dusted fragrances
that reach as far as the next galaxy
from the desert roses that
bloom in your heart
⠀⠀⠀
