Title? Snowblind
in an Arctic Blizzard
Now there’s original.
On that wall might be good,
yes, a little higher, maybe,
that’s perfect.
I see the intent, subtle point,
that glaring, pristine white
of light unfettered,
the eyes brimming
with too much day,
staring sightlessly into
a radiant nothingness.
Just one thing prevents
the loosing of the mind
into the infinite fields
released by this suggestion;
that severe black frame
delineates and limits,
with geometry defines
the emptiness of vision.
That stark, unforgiving rectangle,
adamant in its statement,
if whitewashed like the wall,
would disappear as a dream
upon waking and
leave us stumbling in a wilderness
unbounded, lost forever
in the frozen wastes,
the plain pain of everywhere.
