A few friends play a game, but as the clock strike's midnight, things turn cold...
I sat against the wall, breaking up the circle we all sat in.

To my left was Amber. Her and I did not really talk, she was tipping her scale more to the side of popularity then bothering to be my friend anymore.

Her hair hung down to her shoulders in a golden-brown wave, she was wearing a black tank top and some pajama shorts.

To my right was Elizabeth, her dark blond hair was tied up at the back of her small head, and she wore a plain colored onesie.

To the right of Elizabeth sat Ginger, she is the hype at our boring sleepover. Her legs are stretched out into the middle of our uneven circle. And sitting right across from me, is Harper. Harper is the one who is hosting the sleepover, her house is pretty big and so is her room. She has a queen sized bed, a tall standing dresser, a mirror decorated with lights and photo’s, a desk with an expensive looking computer, a bookshelf covered in books about history and romance. There is also a giant window right above were I am sitting, when you look out of it in the day light you can see central park in all of its glory. But at night, you can only see darkness and all of the creepers trying to steal away children.

Harper has ghost-blond hair that went straight to the middle of her back, she wore a pale pink pajama set with white ankle socks. She sat cradling a pillow, so did Amber and I. Elizabeth was holding a large stuffed turtle.

Harper’s room was dark. The only light was coming from seven candles spread out across her room. Each candle had a different scent, one was apple another cotton candy, I think I saw one that said peppermint swirl as well.

“I totally needed this sleepover Harper,” Harper smiled at Ginger, I think she took it as a personal complement.

“Well I mean, school has been so hectic, with being in our first senior year after all. I’m glad my parents let me host this, they weren’t going to at first. Ya know, since they aren’t home?”

“Why not?” Screeched Amber shocked.

“Probably because she does not want you messing around with guys, I don’t blame her.” I said, and then the room went silent.

“You remember the party you hosted in July last year? Brad spiked the punch? Do you remember how drunk Tiffany got? Doesn’t help that her boyfriend got her into some trouble that night and the police showed up at their door after the party. Because Tiffany was so wasted the police assumed it was her who broke into the school and vandalized the property. Not her boyfriend! Not to mention that all of you knew what had happened, and none of you stood up and said something.”

Everyone is staring at me, their eyes wide and their jaws dropped, I kind of feel bad now that I said that. But it is true about what happened, it makes me angry they did not do anything!

“Gee, thanks Emma.” Said Elizabeth. “For what?” “Ruining the mood! Right Harper?” Harper nodded in agreement. “First of all that party was bomb! And second, party’s are just boring with us girls. See I don’t understand parents, we should be allowed to spend time with our significant others whether our parents are there or not!” Ginger finally finished her rant. “I agree with Ginger.” Said Harper.

“Seriously? We don’t need guys here to have fun. You do know that right?” I never should have came to this stupid sleepover. I regret all of my decisions.

“You’re just jealous Emma.” Said Amber. Out of all of the people here who I know would say something like that, I did not expect it to come from Amber. Even though we are not friends anymore, we used to be really close, she was the one who invited me to come to this stupid sleepover in the first place!

All of the other girls nodded in agreement.

I slouched back against the wall and did not say anything else, hoping that the conversation would direct away from me.

“You say you want to do something fun Emma?” Says Harper with her evil smile.

“Depends.”

“On?”

“On whether or not you guys are going to choose something stupid and foolish to do and make fun of me.”

“Bloody Mary.” Harper said coldly, and with a straight face. “No! Your not fooling me into that!”

“She is just too scared Harper.” Said Ginger giggling at me.

“I’m not scared! I’m just not stupid!”

“Are you sure you’re not just scared Emma?” Said Harper once more.

“Yes. I’m not scared, but I wont do it.”

“That’s exactly what someone who was scared would say.” Mumbled Amber under her breath.

A couple minutes have past and they’re still taunting me, and I know that they wont stop until I do it. I don’t believe in Bloody Mary, but the folklore freaks me out. Of course I have never told anyone that. The taunts just keep getting worse and worse.

“Oh little Emma is chicken!”

“told you she wouldn’t do it!”

“She’s just a cry baby!”

“Fine!” I yelled. “I will do it.”

“Good timing Emma, its almost midnight.” Said Harper.
