An ending. For Writer's Cramp, reposted due to increased portfolio space!
The day their world ended went from ash grey to fire red

The succession of colors seemed aptly wrong, another broken rule

United under one cloud-filled sky, they watched the light reflected down at them

There, the color scheme continued its ruthless play on their faces

They didn’t notice that

They wouldn’t look

They couldn’t

...

Worlds have ended before, and risen anew in lush greenery

But that’s not their’s

That won’t be them

Hanging on to the last rays of dying light seemed Important

Poignant

Solemn

But not enough so to look

..

The day their world ended, the light slowly bathed them in red

Slowly, surely

A ruthless conquest of unmoving planes

They can’t see that

Won’t

.

All that’s left is ashes.
