Second Chapter of Rossa adventure into the city jungle.
Chapter 2: Enforcer

It’s been 2 weeks since Rossa’s daring Escape. All she had were high hopes, her belongings and a plan on the first day. Since it was the middle of the night, she decided to sleep in a expansive tavern. The gold came in handy, since it was relatively close to the forbidden mansion. Once rested she had to quickly escape into the city avoiding the guards. She knew once “Master” Gex and her “Mother” discover that she is gone, the chase would be on. She quickly left the tavern and escaped deeper into the city. Hiding among other Substellios was very easy. Giving the citizens only recognized the Royalty as gods and only the names of their children. The children would be shown only during big events like taking their place in other classes. That security measure was an double edge sword, for Rossa’s benefit. Hiding in the crowd would make finding her more difficult. The Royal guards were looking for a needle in a Metropolitan sized haystack, with other needles. Maybe Master Gex have betrayed her trust, but his lessons were very helpful. Yet she forgot, one important thing, while avoiding detection. It is to be wary of her surroundings.

***

Capital o ZEW was Maximerdis. A city centralized around Oasis. Forbidden mansion was next to it. Then there were Priest and Mages pyramid, Noble Houses and a fancy (and expensive) tavern. Those buildings were quite imposing for regular citizens knowing how big are the first 4 classes. Still they were dwarf size comparison to the Forbidden Mansion. Further there were barracks for close calls in case of emergencies. Then regular homes and market place. There were dozens of shops in various sizes and colours that pleases the eye for customers. The homes were buildings from 2 to 10 floors. Making place for alleys and other shops. The other landmark beside the big market Square was the Colosseum. Further were small shops and little cottage houses other barracks and of course the outline of the city. It magnificent giant red walls. Holding the city in an safety embrace.

Rossa got lost.

The second day only got worse. Avoiding guards, which widen their search and getting more lost. Once even she found an female Substellio, which offered her help. She said she is a tourist guide, helping getting around. She took Rossa to a very busy market place and pickpocketed her entire gold. Without that Rossa’s hopes were diving down. She was lost an poor in mere 2 days. Next days were not better. Sleeping on the freezing streets (Desert nights were dangerously cold for all reptiles). Constantly on the run. Tired and lonesome. She was beginning to miss the luxurious lifes she had. She quickly had to abandon them. The reason she escaped was way more important. She said she can make her own future and decisions, without any influence of others. If she came back, she would prove them right to decide for her. She composed herself, and find a way out of this predicament. First get some money. An easy thing, she thought. That was in her plans from the beginning. She considered an gladiator option. She had some fighting experience. Mostly in training but she would give it a shot. In the Coliseum, matches were held during weekends. She had to scratch that idea for 2 reasons. First if she would became famous, that would draw attention. Second The Vessyr was a great fan of gladiator fights. It’s as good idea as going directly to guards to take her in. Join as the soldier were also out of the question. Vessyr was checking them and there was that general jackass, she almost killed. Days of searching and constant running was slowly taking its toll on her. She was poor, cold and now was getting hungry. Usually Substellios need to eat at least one moderate sized meal a week. Or at least small meals for several days. Rossa had not eaten since her money were stolen. Finding a job was a priority, before she could starve to death. Yet she did not want any kind of job. Maybe she was not next in line for the throne, but she still had some dignity. Which was slowly dissolving, replacing it with desperation. Each passing day. She was even thinking about leaving Maximerdis, venture through the desert and find a job outside the Capital. Yet the walls were heavily guarded. She only ended up more tired by walking through the entire city.

***

She ended up in a small sandy alleyway. next to a small meat shop. Rossa’a muzzle started to water. Seeing all of those meat on display. She noticed an obese red lizard sleeping on the job. This created an opportunity for Rossa. An opportunity creates a thief. The heroine of course had second thought on stealing. She remembered If she gets caught, she would be outside of the society and a trip to the forbidden mansion. Putting disgrace to god send family. A dungeon would be the less of her worries Her instincts were conflicting with her dignity. Dignity eventually lost to growing hunger. She quickly swooped a scrap of meat and tugged under her blue tunic. She suddenly got bumped by some lizard running with a large crate

- Hey watch it! – yelled Rossa, he kept running. Then Rossa heard another set of paw steps, from behind her. She looked at the source, so she could move out of the way. Another Substelio came across. A female wearing a white coloured armoured torso with silver outlines, with greaves and bracers. On one of them was a crossbow. Rossa recognize that kind of armor. Usually armies had gold outlines and the law enforcers sliver ones. The Hassasin did not have any, since they work in secret. She could not point any other details, because the Lizard pointed at her and yelled
- Stop there thieving scum!
- They are that fast?! – though Rossa and dashed forward. She was about to do her evasive moves. Unfortunately she notice her stamina was very low. Sprint was slow enough for the enforcer to catch her. She got tackled to the ground. Rossa landed on the sand, and felt how her arms were pressed on her back. While her hands ere cuffed she heard the feminine voice of the officer
- You are arrested, finally got you. You are now outside of our society. To return to it you have to pay the dept to the damage you done and to work fee of the law-enforcers. Which can be by money or by labour. For now give back the stolen gems. – she started to frisk Rossa from all her belongings, the dagger, the meat and anything else – What? Where are…?
- Guess… -
started Rossa - … you got the wrong Substellio. So can you please let go? – the Law-enforcer grunted. Picked her up and backed up at the corner. Now she could get a closer look at her. This Substellio had black scales with some red patterns near her eyes and on her hood. The Hood was more pointed upwards. She was a head taller than Rossa. She was looking down at her with her sharp yellow eyes and thin slits pupils. Her armour did not cover her arms which were jacked. Rossa looked anorectic in comparison to her. That would explain her strength. Her legs also were packed, muscled calf’s and thick tights covered by the armoured grey and silver skirt. Tightly around her thin waistline were the Torso part of armour was. Enforcer was armed with a small compound crossbow, few bolts on her belt and a sizeable 2 handed axe with a spike on its end. Plus on the other side a leather bag. Placed one her back.
Rossa was about to use magic to free from her bonds.
- Don’t try even using magic, these cuffs have crystals engraved inside to soak all magic energy. Only Gods themselves could break out of these. Now, where is your partner?
- Excuse me?
- Don’t play like a fool! Several stores and a 2 noble houses were robbed during the past days with no correlation. Except a pattern few mysterious figures and only jewels. I already figured that can’t be a 1 lizard job. So tell me, with who did you swap? This may lower your dept to pay.
- Forgive me, but I believe you got the wrong lizard. I only took the meat out there.
- Humph… You don’t know anything, waste of time. And I lost my only clue.
-S~so can you? Free me?
- You just admitted to thievery, didn’t you? You still a criminal and I will take you to custody.

Rossa grunted. This was terrible news for her. After 2 weeks of avoiding the best royal soldiers, she got caught by a simple officer. Her pride was damaged. She knows how this would go, she will get in custody, The Vessyr or any one form the upper-class would recognise her. Take her straight to the forbidden mansion. Be stripped of the royal ties, a lecture of all lectures from mother and be grounded (By that meaning dungeon) for the rest of her life, doing their biding. She had to think of a way to get out of this predicament.

The enforcer dragged Rossa back and returned the meat to the merchant (after waking him up). Then she questioned him. - For breed sake – she cursed, hearing nothing useful. She looked at Rossa and moved her to the wall – Now stay here and don’t move a muscle, because if you do… – she swiftly loaded her bow and aimed at her – … I will be authorised to shoot. – She then looked down and started looking.
This got Rossa an idea. She noticed that the officer was more focused on the thief. Helping the enforcer, might be a way out. Besides it was quite a mystery. Why would the thief’s steal jewels? Probably for an easy way to get rich. But usually they would do easy pickings. Like the stores the law-enforcer mentioned. Why would they be so bold by stealing from the nobles? This does not add up. – Well won’t know, if is just stand here – she thought. – Excuse me officer.
- What? – she asked roughly, aiming her crossbow.
- I see that you have some trouble? I may assist you.
- You don’t know anything about this.
- You are right I don’t know anything about this. But if you set me free, I could help and know something.
- No way! I don’t work with criminals.

- Could have predicted that. She is the by the rule book kind.
- As long as you are in these cuffs you in my custody.
- So wait… –
Rossa then let out a grunt – If I would be free of these cuffs you would let me help you?
- Yeah, yeah like’s that’s going to happen.

Rossa then extended her right hand and in the left she was spinning the handcuffs - So it is a deal, then?
- Wha… How did you!?

What she did was an old Hassasin trick. When Rossa was grunting she broke her thumb, so she could slip her hand out off her trap.
– So… You did agree? – She heard a hiss response and a quick snatch the cuffs out of Rossa’s hand.
- Fine. Cuffs won’t stop anyway. – She quickly draw her crossbow again, aiming at her head – Don’t try running away.
Rossa let out short chuckle
- Are you kidding. This is a kind of mystery, I desire to solve. - The officer lower her arm aiming at her chin a raise an eyebrow. – Um, something wrong?
-N-nothing get to work Miss…?
- Luna-Venere-Cor –
she lied. And got to work this time she was asking questions about the thief. The officer Lenta-Lex-Malleo said that she was ambushing on a hunch. She only recognised that it was male and was carrying a crate packed with gems and other jewellery from the noble. Knowing the lowest hight of that noble was 3 meters, the jewels were massive. Luna remembered she was bashed by someone like that. She came back to the store she previously robbed. And looked down – Knowing the weight and the footprint. We could easily track him.
- Smart, but many lizards were coming here and we tackled here so it is nearly impossible to determine tracks
- Key word: “Nearly”. Not for a geomancer, which I am. –
she kneeled on the sand, placed her hands and concentrated her energy. – Terra reforma – chant that make the ground reshape to its previous state. She visualised how the sand moves away. Then felt dizzy and stopped the flow of energy. She noticed officer Lenta kneeling next to her checking her out, still with the armed crossbow.
- Are you ok?
- Nothing just light headed. –
a load gurgle came from her belly. Rossa forgot that magic needs energy, from the body. If you do a difficult incantation or over-exert yourself you can lose conscious, mobility or even life. Having this hard time for the couple of days. No wonder she felt weak. She looked at Lenta, who opened her bag, scuffle something out of her way and pulled out an 2 fist sized yellow egg.
- Here. - Rossa felt surprised and confused. – I am a tough enforcer. I but I don’t use brutality… If necessary.
Rossa was still surprised. She probably knew how magic works. Despite that she took the egg and swallowed it whole. She felt content. Filled with nutrition, energy and pleasure of generosity she missed back home. With a filled belly, she came back to work and resumed the spell. The sands shifted, turned and showed the clear trail of other Substellio.
- Quicker reveal, then I thought, he must be close.

They fallowed the trail, which led to an old tavern: Inn Corcnite cursus corde. The Inn was a tall building in plain cream colour. It was high for a 1 store building. Most of the windows were welded shut and it looked like it was not renovated for decades. They slowly crept inside.

The interior of the tavern also looked neglected. Wooden floor was full of cracks, wooden tables, stools and chairs in various places and sizes. Probably to accommodate every kind of Substellio. The walls were barren white, near the entrance was the counter. On the right stairs leading to the upper floor. The main hall was huge and big for about 10 meters. Also on the left were 4 doors leading to the kitchen and restrooms. On the celling were several big wooden chandeliers. In the far end of the room, there was a gathering. The quickly and quietly hid behind a counter. Carefully peeked out of their spot. At the table there were 4 Substellios.

One of them was standing on the top of the table. Hard to define what kind of lizard it was, because he/she was wearing a white coat, hood and mask covering his/her whole body with some black patterns on its back. The other Substellio had light blue colour scales and was wearing a yellow tunic with a hood standing next to the White one. His back was facing the exit door. The other 2 were facing him on the table. One was a yellow coloured snake with a blue shirt and short black spiky hair. His tail was coiled like a spring giving an sitting impression. He was looking at the white one with crossed arms. The red lizard was sitting next to him. He looked more relaxed, with one arm on the back of his chair and second on the table. He was wearing a black shirt, belt and short blue pants. He had spikes on his head resembling a mohawk.

Thankfully they were concentrated on the gathering so they could hear their talk.
- Come on! – said the impatient female yellow snake. – Just tell us then you can look
- Patience – said the White one, it was hard to recognise his/her voice it was feminine but very deep. – I need check if that is no fluke.
- I took what, I was instructed. – Said the blue lizard – Still feel my blood rushing from that chase. My crew are probably suffering from a heart attack.
- You outdid yourself – commented the white one – it so clustered and I’m interested in one item in parti… Ah, there it is. – The white one pulled out a necklace. It was on a long silver chain, with a sliver plate and a red ruby in shape of a heart. – See this? This is my heritage took away from me, once I was gone. Or should I say they thought I was gone.
- No way! –
said the red lizard straightening himself on the chair and looking with awe – That is the silver necklace Lady Le-Fay was wearing on one of the ceremonies
- Thankfully that necklace did not broke on her thick neck. –
said the white one
- S-so… – said the snake – …you actually did it. Rob the noble. What that gives us-s?
- This –
she pushed over the crate to them and pilled the gems and jewels before them – I give the share of the loot, for your service’s to…
His voice was cut short from a sudden slam from one of the restrooms. The slam was so powerful the door almost went off its hinges. From that emerged 5th Substellio. A Croc. He was 5 meters tall and was massive. He had bodybuilder like physique. Arms big as melons. Giant pecks and a eight pack making a pillar. Big muscle toned hips and calves. He was an albino Croc. With grey scale underbelly. Long muzzle sharp teeth and red eyes. He was wearing a pauldron on his left shoulder, 2 belts crossing on his pecks and a clack belt which was holding his loincloth. With a giant thick tail. Once he opened the door he had to crouch from under the frame so he could get out. His muscle’s rippled through his efforts.
– Subtle as ever – sighted the white one.
Suddenly the albino turned his head toward the counter. Rossa and Lenta quickly hid under hoping he could not see them. Rossa heard one heavy foot step, then another. Each of the step made the floorboards creak and shake. He let out a growl.
- Is that so? – asked the white one – Lady and Gents, If I may, follow me to the kitchen were we can discuss this in a safer place. In the meantime: Hit-Har take care of our guests, follow me.

They heard they were running knocking the chairs while leaving. And a load roar coming from the Croc. Rossa notice he was picking the table up while the rest were exiting the room toward the kitchen. The table was flying toward the counter. Rossa and Lenta jumped out. The furniture got smashed.

- Quick! – yelled Rossa – I will hold him off! – without waiting for an answer she jumped toward the Croc. He quickly grabbed to her. His hand was huge she could hold her whole lower torso in one hand. Once he got a hold of her, she felt a tight squeeze of his fingers. The grips was so strong she felt like all of her ribs were broken. The audible pop’s and crack’s confirmed that. Rossa screamed in pain. Then Hit-Har threw her across the room into the kitchen. Rossa flew into a drawer crashing it and falling on the ground. Rossa coughed some of the blood and was struggling to grasp some air. She tried to lift herself. Surprisingly each breath she took came easier than the last. Once she was standing straight, the pain went away. – Huh? I think… I can walk it off? – she was not certain she coughed in her hand and did not see blood – Well my lungs are ok. – She then heard commotion outside the kitchen. It was Lenta dictating rights to the Croc, which he responded with roar’s and smashing furniture. Her first real fight. She just remembered what Gex teachings about fighting each of Substellio.

When you encounter a Croc, you have 2 options. Either beat him with brutal strength showing that you are better or use your other advantages. Speed and evasiveness is more yore forte so we will work on that. Also remember that Crocs have steel like scales which is hard to puncture or slash, but every Armor has its weakness. Always remember attack the places where the scales are connecting. The spaces in between are your best chances to hit his artery.

Bad news was, that Her dagger was taken by Lenta, no chance to get it during a brawl. Good news was, she was in the kitchen a place with potential for lethal blades. She found 3 kitchen knives and 3 skewers.
- That will do – she grabbed them and put the knives on her belt as an improvised sheath. The skewers she pin on her back, through her clothes. Once ready and rethinking her plan, she came back to the fray. Just in time. She noticed the Croc got a hold of Lenta’s arm, he squeezed her arm, the crossbow broke. Slowly crushing her bracers and arm. Rossa quickly jumped on a chair, from it on the table and landed on the Crocs shoulders with her hands. Red eyes met up with blue eyes. She winked and drag out one of the knives and puncture his uncovered right shoulder. The Croc hissed and let go of The enforcer. He tried to grab Rossa, but she quickly jumped out with a back flip landed low on the ground. Drew her cleaver and embedded in his inner hip, casing another hiss and falling on the knee. She drew her last knife and tried to puncture his back. The blade slid of, she snapped her fingers in dissatisfaction and immediately got knocked off by his massive tail. She flew quite far, she landed on her hands, bounced off and landed on her feet. – Ok I think I got him, but he bleeds slowly – she noticed little red streams on his white scales. – I need to wore him out. – Just in time Hit-Har turned his attention to Rossa, he charged with a claw swipe. She quickly dodged underneath it and ran across the room. She was about to wore him off. Lenta used the opportunity and charged at the Croc with her axe. She was about to lift it upwards for cut damage. It slide over his scales. The croc turned to her. Not losing the speed she whirled the axe and tried this time for an overhead slash. The croc Blocked with his hand and grabbed the blade (!). Holding the blade he twisted on the side forcing Lenta to let go or fall down. She went with the second option. He then swiped her over the floor. Lenta let go of the axe and glided over the floor. The Croc rushed in and was ready for the smash with the hatched.
- For breed sake! – she cursed and rolled out of the way. The axe got pinned to the floor. That was Rossa’s chance for another attack. She noticed that the Croc was bending, trying to lift the weapon. She used that moment to jump on his back. Hit-Har responded with a growl, she jumped up and grabbed one of the chandeliers. She span herself – Watch out! – yelled Lenta. Hit-Har was ready for a swipe, while Rossa was going back with her swing. While going back she used the momentum and let go of the chandelier and kicked Croc, forcing him to land on the ground. Once they both landed Rossa dragged her skewers. She quickly thrusted on of them on through his right shoulder, the second on his second one. Roar was so loud the chandelier shook. She then used her third one to pin his right forearm. She pinned him to ground though his scales, muscles and the wooden floor. The Albino was struggling to get out of this position. Rossa clapped her hands and walked towards Lenta
- There apprehended. Now… – she could not finish. She heard a loud crack and noticed that the albino freed his right arm. He lifted it up with the skewers still intact with pieces of the wooden floor. – What is he made off?! – said Rossa. He started to free his other arm. Once free, he started to roll towards the females. Rossa and Lenta jumped over him. Rossa did a dive jump, while Lenta a bit awkward normal one. She got tripped by it and fell down. Once missed he quickly got up with the still attached wooden pieces of the floor. Looking like a makeshift armour. Red stains appeared on his puncture wounds though. – Wait that’s it – though Rossa - he is not bleeding fast enough, cause the blades are stuck to him. I need to get them out, so it won’t obstruct the blood. – She quickly began another assault towards the Croc. This time She was going to distract him by throwing the knife at his muzzle, that would give her opportunity to go under his legs and grab the cleaver. She did as she intended, she threw the knife, the Croc deflected it easily. Rossa underestimated his speed. He used his other arm to grab during her charge. She felt his cold hand around her neck. He then used the other arm to squeeze it harder. He was grinning while doing so. Rossa tried to fight it, but she was losing her breath. She felt how her scales on the neck were cutting though her skin. She felt how he was also trying to pin her to the ground by pushing her body towards the ground. Her strength was fading. Slowly losing consciousness. Everything was going dark and silent. So silent she could hear her beating heart. Slowing its beating. A slow pause. A moment of silence. Then came a beat and another. Her heart was going faster with each beat. Soon after it started racing. The dark gave away to light colours. Some unseen strength came back to Rossa. Her thought process sped up. It was so fast she did not process any of the second guesses. One though and it was already in motion. She topped feeling the pain. The only though right now is to get free. Her limbs, responded to every action that came up. Her hand grabbed one of the fingers and was slowly praying it losing its grasp. She felt some sort of determination. She was not going out. Not back in the Mansion and not now.

- Flamma Sphera! – Lenta’s voice pierced the room and a ball of flame hit Hit-Har’s muzzle. He roared in pain and let go of Rossa, while gasping she started her other actions.. She ran toward the Croc’s leg. She noticed she moved a bit faster than earlier. Croc was covering his face. Flaying his other arm in chaotic manner. In his blind fury he managed to backhand Lenta and sent her flying across the room. Knocking her out of the fight. In the meantime she ran toward him, kneeled down and slide between his legs and re-grabbed the cleaver. The beast roared in pain. Blood squirted from the cut and stained his scales and the wooden floor. After her slide she stood up and faced the beast. The beast picked up a stool In attempt to throw it. Rossa calmly looked a table and flipped it to shield herself. He let a disapproval growl, when he missed. He ran toward the table in attempt to kick it. Rossa this time ran toward the wall, jumped out of it. And flew above the Croc. During the flight she used her tail to re-take the knife which was still attached to his shoulder. She successfully pulled it off. Rossa faced again the Croc. Again roaring in pain. He was holding his shoulder to stop the fountain of blood from coming out. Rossa only get the knife from his tail to her hand and spin it between to have a better grip. She was buying time. The Croc with big efforts tried to stop the blood. One arm was holding its Shoulder the second arm holding the injured leg. Low growl. The Croc got mad and attempted a powerful straight forward punch. Trying to hide the pain expression. She crossed her arms to block it. She absorbed all of his power. So powerful it dislocated her elbow. She flew a few meters back and her forearm fell. Forcing to let go of the cleaver. She looked at it. She just grabbed her arm and put the joint in its place. She did not feel a thing. For the first time, she noticed fear and shock in red eyes of the Croc. Rossa casually picked her blade back and charged at him. The Croc risk a grabbing move, letting go his wounds causing more blood to come out. Rossa managed to make slide the grab, quickly stood up and dived to stab his abdomen. And Corrected with a slash of the cleaver on his side. He tried to smash her, she managed to make a spin and pulled out the blades. More blood were coming from all his wounds. No way in covering all of them. It was so much You could barely see a clean part of the floor. Red puddles were everywhere. White walls were now decorated with crimson red spots. The croc went berserk on Rossa. She was only dodging. Diving under him, blocking some attacks with the stools. Few minutes later, Lenta recovered from her KO. Before running for her attacks she noticed Hit-Har’s moves were slowed. He tried to punch put he missed, while Rossa was not dodging. Both of them were panting. The fountain of blood was decreasing to normal spills. Other wounds were losing its pressure. Another attempt to hit it looked more like a flail the air. A struggled punch. Suddenly the giant fell on his knees. The blood was not coming out. He finally collapsed on the ground with a last dying pant. Rossa was standing and felt a growing fatigue after that. Pain suddenly struck the places, where she got hit. Her thoughts slowed down, she could clear her mind.
- What was that? – she thought. – I mean I know what I was doing, but its like I could not let him take the upper hand. Had a idea and an instant action in making it. – she looked at herself. She also got bloodstains from the giant. – It was just like the moment with That rapist, but longer and stronger. Construct magic or…
- Well, he is dead – Said Lenta leaning over his body and checking the pulse – Too bad was hoping for more intel, but got more then I should.
- Then … -
stated Rossa – … with that out of the way. Please excuse to take my leave.
Rossa suddenly got grabbed by the enforcer
- Not so fast. – she said roughly tightening her grip – You still got a dept to pay.
- Really?! After all of that?! -
Rossa was shocked. No way she was escaping this one.

***

Later Rossa was sitting on a stool being carefully watched by the officer. She stood there with her arms crossed. Lenta telepathically called her squad to come over. For minutes, that were dragging like hours they arrived. Few squad members, one was a rattle snake, Croc and some other Substellio. All of them in white armour. The sand coloured rattle snake with diamond patterns on his back was giving orders.
- Ok secure everything! Check top to bottom and not in that particular order. Plus one of you, mainly you - he pointed at the Croc – Pick this dead weight for examining.
- Sgt. Jest-Ter –
said Lenta – Be sure to secure 4-5 block radius and ask any citizen if they saw something unfamiliar. And I want every information of the testimonies and the plan of this Tavern.
- Right away, ma’am –
He saluted – Although we will have to stretch our force’s
- If anyone, you are the man for the job.
- And by the way Chief? –
sarge before leaving, pointed at Rossa, who was shocked after the reveal of Lenta’s position as Chief Enforcer – And who is she?
- She is my new partner.
- Partner? –
said in unison sarge and Rossa. Awkward silence filled the room.
- Don’t you have any job to do?
- Y-yes, right away ma’am. –
he said and left doing his duties.
- What do you mean by partner?
- That’s the way you will repay. Plus seeing how much you can do. It would be waste for you living on the street. I though working as an enforcer would teach you how to respect the law.

Rossa was confused by all of this. It was overwhelming. She was running, starving, arrested, solving mystery, fighting for her life and now this. When that feeling passed she was pleased. She finally found a place to stay. And a thing she liked most. All of that knowledge will be put in good use. Something she would definitely enjoy. No moment can’t last forever, because suddenly Chief Lenta addressed the elephant in the room.
- Luna, was it? A rather common name. Don’t think I also did not noticed how you made an anagram of the street, we were on and the pre-ancient word of “heart”. Interesting name choice.
- Well you see… -
started meekly Rossa
- Save it. – shut her Lenta, she suddenly was making rounds around her. Measuring her up. Like a lion circling her pray – You clearly could escape my cuffs. You could ran multiple times, yet you stayed and helped. Topping all of that was the fight. You are a very enigmatic creature.
- Wait. –
said - If I am that shady, why did you pick me as a partner?
- Let’s just say. –
said Lenta stopping in her tracks. She stood in front of her. She looked deeply into Rossa’s eyes. She slightly raised an eyebrow. A seductive tone escaped her muzzle - You are the kind of mystery I desire to solve.
Rossa/Luna’s heart skipped a beat.

To be continued… In chapter 3
