Poems written by and collected by family members and others |
I am using this book to keep record of my mother's poems and writings, my great grandmother's poems, poems my Dad collected that other people wrote, and anything else I want to share on WDC that someone other than me wrote. This is my way of honoring my deceased family members who can no longer share the writings they love. Be A Faithful Worker By Mary Pickens (my mother) Written November 5, 1973 The Sun and stars; the moon and sky so beautifully placed by the hand of God for man. Love and Mercy; kindness and understanding; wisdom and the Holy Spirit is given by the touch of his hand. In the fall of the year the seasons change and upon us falls the snow. In man’s life if there is no change for Christ, he shall soon fall below. Our lives for Christ must shine like the sun at noon and the moon at night. For the lives we live will lead a man astray or to the light. So love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul; letting his light show through your life. Working continually at his labor; gathering the lost and praying for man in his sinful strife. Visit the poor; pray for the sick; study God's Word every hour of the day. Telling it to others that they may know the fullness of his love, his truth and way. |
