Cataract attack (I know it's no big deal today, BUT!!!)

Tears roil in my eyes.
"Can it be true?" I wonder.
My eyes blur even worse.
A curtain of white obscures,
squinting I try to see,
unsuccessfully.

"Yep, those are cataracts,"
A drawl interrupts my anguish.
"A simple treatment, you see."
(NO I DON'T!!! That's the point!)
It may be simple,
…. but it's still happening to me.
